PostHeaderIcon Principal Functions of Tools That Use a Specified Size of a Dot Matrix Printer’s Ink Ribbon

To clearly explain about the size of a dot matrix printer’s ink ribbon, you have to understand the core of the printer or the device itself. This is a kind of a computer printer that utilizes the specified size of a dot matrix printer’s ink ribbon. The print head runs back and forth, up and down motions. The pages are printed through the use of impact. The mechanism is actually similar to how a typewriter works.

Any size of a dot matrix printer’s ink ribbon is utilized in the process according to the printer’s requirement. The letters are first drawn on the dot matrix. This is why the fonts and graphics that are printed vary and are not consistent. Mechanical pressure is applied to be able to start printing. The printers that utilize any size of a dot matrix printer’s ink ribbon can come up with copies with or without carbon.

How the Printer Works

Every dot that is created through the size of a dot matrix printer’s ink ribbon is produced through a wire or pin that is actually a small metal rod. The rod is driven forward by the power that the small electromagnet has. There is part that can be made from artificial sapphire or ruby that are perforated with holes or the guide plate, which face the paper and the ribbon of the printer.

The print head is the moving part of the device. When using the printer to print out generic texts, it will only be able to print one line of a text at a time. There are some types of this printer with print heads that have one vertical line of dot making tool. There are also some types that try to improve the density of the dots by having some interleaved rows.

Other Essential Notes

The printer that utilizes the specified size of a dot matrix printer’s ink ribbon is favored by many people, especially those who require heavy printing requirements. Unlike the more advanced tools, this kind of printer is highly durable. More often than not, it will only wear out when ink invades the device that serves as guide on the header. When this happens, dirt may stick on the print head that may cause inaccurate guidance on the wires used by the tool to make it work more efficiently. If this problem won’t be fixed as soon as possible, there may come a time when the printout will become unclear and hard to read.

PostHeaderIcon Cheap and Cheerful Christmas Tips

Christmas Tree

Whatever your style, your Christmas tree will be the main area of focus. How you decorate it will vary depend on the individual but there are some basic tips to follow regardless of your taste:-

1) Always start with the lights. Don’t skimp on them – for every vertical foot of the tree use a strand of 100 lights

2) Don’t use ribbon and garlands of beads on the tree together – use one or the other

3) If you use a ribbon to wrap around the Christmas tree – make sure it is wrapped around at the same angle all the way down with the same space between each row. Just rest it gently on some branches but do not tuck it in

4) Place all your decorative, special baubles on first. Fill the gaps with cheaper, plainer baubles and don’t forget to make sure the weight is distributed evenly around the tree

5) If you want to create more depth, hang some baubles near to the trunk of the tree

6) If you want to go really radical this year, do something bizarre like building a Christmas tree out of hard backed books – simply build it up layer by layer using less number of books each time. Place the books at different angles to create the right effect, and then place an angel on top. It looks fantastic but be warned – you will need quite a few books.

Christmas stockings

If you still like to use the traditional Christmas stocking but have no fireplace to hang them from, no problem. Try one of these alternatives instead:-

1) I found this one on a blog and thought it was a brilliant idea! – Simply attached two long double lengths of wide ribbon securely from your ceiling. Find a slim, solid branch. Paint it white and hang it across your wall with the ribbons holding it in place. Make sure the branch is balanced and secure before attaching your Christmas stockings.

2) Or go really radical and buy some fun, funky wellies and use them instead!

Decorative Ornaments

Tired of using the same old ones? Ready to create some cheap, cheerful alternatives?

1) Create a beautiful centre piece for your table by building an orange pyramid, use six oranges on the bottom row, three on the middle row and one on top. Add some leaves to really set it off

2) If you have some spare or old baubles, why not create a bauble garland? Simply attach the baubles to a long piece of ribbon (thread the ribbon through the baubles hoop and secure it with a knot). Use it to decorate a bare piece of wall – let your imagination run wild to create a really stunning effect

3) Is you room mainly white? Not a problem, hang individual various glass baubles on white ribbon from the ceiling. Use them to hang over sideboards or to create a focal point in a corner. Different effects can be achieved by having the ribbon different lengths. Have a play until you’re happy with the result – stunning!

4) One of my favourites is to use clear glass vases and fill them will an assortment of items. A large church candle surrounded by fresh cranberries looks fantastic, if your home is more minimalist then surround the candle with glass beads or sticks of cinnamon. If you have some small baubles, place them carefully into the vase – you can stick to one colour or mix and match using several different sized vases to achieve a real contemporary look. The great thing about these is that they can be placed anywhere – on mantelpieces, window sills or tables in kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms or bathrooms

For the Children

There are many different things that you can do to make Christmas really special for your children, but these have to be my favourite two:-

1) Attach plastic mugs to the spindles on your staircase using pieces of scrap ribbon. Fill them with their favourite Christmas sweets and munchies. Not only will this keep your kids entertained but it will make your visitors smile!

2) Make the children their very own advent calendar by using plastic cups – make sure they are sturdy enough to stack. Number them from 1 to 25. Line each individual cup with brightly coloured tissue paper, add the treat then stack them up somewhere stable.

Happy times!

PostHeaderIcon Do You Need a Great Craft Idea to Do With Your Daughter?

Have you ever gone to those craft boutiques and looked at all of the stuff and think to yourself that you could make it and probably make it for a whole lot cheaper. I walk around and wish that I was more talented or that my husband could cut wood for wooden decorations. I did find a couple things that I could make at home for a fraction of the cost. It was really exciting when I found out how cheap making hair clips with the fancy bows really are.

My little girl loves the fancy bows in her hair. We do not always have money in our budget to buy all the ones she wants. I was so excited when I went on to YouTube and found a video that shows you how to make hair clips. I watched this video a couple of times and then went on the hunt for the items I needed.

First you need to decide what type of ribbon and seasonal effects you want. I went online and found the cutest ribbon. The internet has so many businesses that offer the cutest ribbon. I have found, soccer, volleyball, football, cheerleading, holiday decorated etc. The choices are so endless, it is great! So I ordered my ribbon that my daughter and I had picked out. Next off you need to find the hardware. I like to use single prongs. They just fit in my daughter’s hair better. If your daughter has thick hair you might want to go for double prong. The size ribbon that you need to go on these is 3/8″ width. This ribbon covers the alligator clip perfectly. There is no need to cut or have to worry about jagged lines, it lays over nice and neat. Then as long as you have a glue gun at home you can hot glue gun the ribbon to the clip and you have the first part of your hair bow finished. Yes if you want to skip this step all together there are websites where you can buy all ready lined hairclips.

Next you need to decide what kind of bow you are going to glue to the clip. There are korker bows that look like a pom pom and these are my daughter’s favorite. There is just the traditional bow and you can make these a little bit fancier by doubling or tripling the ribbon for a more 3D effect.

This will be a great time bonding and having fun with your little girl. If you are anything like me, it will be a great day just relaxing making hair clips.

PostHeaderIcon Wedding Bouquet Decorations

A wonderful way to make your bridal bouquet even more beautiful is to add special embellishments to it. From bouquet wraps, to jewelry, to streamers, there are many things you can do to make your bouquet really spectacular. These are some beautiful ideas for wedding bouquet decorations.

The flower handle is a great place to add an extra bit of decoration to your bouquet. Start by choosing a very lush ribbon. Since you don’t need a large quantity to wrap such a small area, go ahead and indulge in a really luxurious ribbon with a major wow factor. Naturally, the style of the wrap should complement both the flowers and your bridal attire. For example, if you are planning to wear lots of crystal bridal jewelry, a gorgeous shimmer ribbon with long streamers would be a wonderful choice. Tie up an arrangement of white anemones with black centers with a black and white striped bow. Or match a very romantic bouquet of sweet peas, garden roses, and peonies with an exquisitely hand painted ribbon. It will be absolutely breathtaking.

Bouquet decorations can go well beyond simply ribbon. You get to wear fabulous bridal jewelry, why not give your flowers a great set of crystals to wear? This can be done in a variety of ways. Mirror backed crystal buttons can be added to the ribbon over the flower stems in a straight row, much like the buttons on a bridal gown. Try the square shaped crystals for a very tailored effect. Another idea is to have sparkling crystals in an “ab” finish pinned to the centers of some of the wedding flowers. You could even criss-cross thin strands of crystals over the top of a round nosegay of roses for a spectacular evening wedding bouquet.

There are some other lovely things which can be added to the bride’s flowers for embellishment. One very traditional accent is the pearl tipped pins used in the centers of tiny white stephanotis blossoms. The little star shaped flowers are often paired with white or cream roses for a bouquet with classic elegance. Speaking of pearls, you might also want to use a strand of pearls (real or faux) to create a ladylike bouquet wrap. A pearl brooch pinned to a tartan ribbon would be a great accent for a Scottish inspired bouquet of roses, thistles, and heather.

Some of the most exciting bouquet decorations are the most colorful. There is nothing quite like the addition of vivid peacock feathers to make a floral arrangement come alive. In addition to multi-colored feathers, brides also find that black or white feathers can add a wonderful sense of drama to a bouquet. For a different sort of colorful adornment, try perching beautiful butterflies on the flowers. It only takes a few silk, enamel, or feather butterflies to add a delightful dash of whimsy to your wedding bouquet. If doing this for the bride, it would be nice to add a single butterfly to each of the bridesmaids’ arrangements as well.

Hanging ornaments can really make a bouquet unique and exciting. Long ribbon streamers, trailing ivy or vines, or even strands of tiny orchid petals can add so much interest to the bride’s flowers. These additions are excellent for bouquets to pair very full or ornate bridal gowns, as they will not be overwhelmed by the wedding dress. Hanging tendrils and streamers can also be highly romantic, and often have a vintage flair. Bouquets which featured “love knots” (flowers on ribbons hanging from the bouquet) were very popular in bygone eras, and still look very charming today.

Whether your taste is dramatic, modern, vintage, or eclectic, there is a way that you can decorate your wedding bouquet to make it extra special. It is a great way to make sure that your flowers will really make a splash as you walk down the aisle.

PostHeaderIcon Great Alternatives to the Sea of Black Luggage

Talk about a sea of black…in picking up my husband from the airport, as always I get stuck waiting for his luggage, while he gets the car. It becomes mesmerizing to watch black suitcase after black suitcase go by in circles on the luggage carousel. It’s almost a feast for the eyes when there is the occasional grey suitcase or pink luggage.

Fast forward to today for Heys Luggage and their introduction of the Britto collection. Wow. This Britto luggage looks like a suitcase on speed…or at the very least, luggage from the throwback era of the 1980′s. In looking at the fabulous Piccaso meets nature type design, I can almost hear Fleetwood Mac and Culture Club music ringing in my ears.

Believe it or not, this is good, solid, hard-sided luggage. It’s made from a polycarbonate composite for resilience and durability while traveling. Heys USA has added a protective coating of clear paint to give it a high gloss luster and protect the wonderful design from scratches. The handle is a modern aluminum telescopic handle system, with push-down locking for easy, single-hand use, and has a cushioned TPR grip for comfort. “Smart Wheels” are larger in the rear for greater control and smooth movement. The entire Britto Collection has a fully lined interior customized to compliment the shell art, clear-view multi-use organizational pocket for ease of packing that also doubles as a divider, and keeping your items secured.

Also new to the Heys Luggage line is the Heys Luggage Xcase® Exotic. The Xcase® Exotic collection is quality built, hard sided luggage with a twist: it features abstract designs and animal prints to add a level of interest and creativity.

If you are feeling like the wilds of Africa, then take a close look at the giraffe, zebra, leopard and snakeskin luggage patterns. Feeling more like the wilds of Asia, then take a close look at the tiger print or the croco print. And, if you’re not feeling wild, but more exotic perhaps you’ll choose the skulls, red flow or the checkers patterns. Not matter what piece of Heys Luggage Xcase® Exotic you choose, you will be sure to easily find your luggage at the luggage carousel. My two guys are hunters and I am certain they will pick the Xcase® Camo for all their travels.

The Xcase® Exotic collection is offered in one size: the 20″ carry-on luggage. Every piece is hard-sided, made from polycarbonate and each design has it’s own unique interior color-coded lining. Heys Luggage offers a seven-year ‘Better Life’ warranty with its Xcase® Exotic collection.

Quality construction, unique designs and some of the most lightweight luggage available make Heys Luggage one of the most sought luggage brands in America today. Whether you are interested in a luggage set, carry-on luggage or a piece of large wheeled luggage, Heys Luggage offers you a quality alternative and at an affordable price.

Another great alternative to black luggage, Susan G. Komen luggage. The name evokes strong emotions. It is a name associated with so many terms: cancer, heartbreak, survival, cure, and hope. It is a name that has become synonymous with finding a cure for one of the most common cancer killers among women: breast cancer. Virtually no one is unscathed. One in ten women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Virtually every adult knows of someone who has breast cancer or has died from breast cancer. October has become breast cancer awareness month and it is the single biggest fundraising month for finding a cure for breast cancer. The Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure is the primary focus of many fundraisers and includes: walks, runs, rallies, and a multitude of products that offer a donation with purchase.

This year a new line of Susan G. Komen luggage has been introduced. There are three unique luggage sets, all appropriately named: Support Collection, Inspire Collection and Ribbon Collection. Each of these women’s luggage sets bears the traditional pink ribbon that has become the signature for breast cancer and the Susan G. Komen foundation. These women’s luggage sets include women’s carry-on, women’s wheeled luggage, women’s wheeled duffel and a women’s tote.

The Susan G. Komen Support Collection three-piece luggage set includes: a 21″ wheeled carry-on upright suitcase, a 25″ wheeled upright suitcase and a carry tote. This woman’s luggage set is offered in black with the signature pink ribbon adorning each piece.

The Susan G. Komen Inspire Collection is a three piece luggage set for women and is offered in three colors: black with the signature pink ribbon, the pink ribbon on pink and pink ribbon on black. This woman’s luggage set includes a carry-on, a wheeled upright and a carry tote.

The Susan G. Komen Pink Ribbon collection is a two-piece luggage set for women and is offered in pink ribbon on pink, pink ribbon on black and black. It features a wheeled duffel and a women’s shopper tote.

This is a wonderful collection of women’s luggage sets. The manufacturer is donating 15% of all sales to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure, with a minimum donation of $25,000. When traveling, these women’s luggage sets will signify support for a cure to this dreaded and unfortunately very common disease. Perhaps we will actually see a cure in our lifetime…for the sake of Susan G. Komen and all the women who have suffered through this disease and for those everywhere who have been affected by it.

So, if you are looking for luggage that you will be able to spot anywhere (and at the same time give the airport carousel watchers a bit of eye candy), take a look at the Heys Britto Collection, Heys Xcase® Exotic Collection and the Susan G. Koman Luggage Collection, great alternatives to the dreary black luggage overtaking the airports and definitely a feast for your eyes.

PostHeaderIcon iPhone Batteries Replacement Procedure – How Do I Replace an iPhone Battery?

So your iPhone battery has quit holding a charge. You are now faced with the dilemma of how to get it fixed. Do you try to replace it yourself or take it back to the Apple store and wait on them to fix it? If you are a do it yourself type of person, then this article is going to tell you exactly how to replace that battery yourself.

Step 1 – Back up all your data.

Step 2 – There is a small hole next to the headphone jack. Locate that hole and pop your sim tray out by pushing on the hole with a needle or the end of a paper clip.

Step 3 – Locate and remove the two small screws next to the dock using a small Phillips head screwdriver.

Step 4 – Using a spudger placed gently between the chrome ring and the display glass directly above one of the screw holes, very gently separate the display from the back panel.

Step 5 – Lift the panel away from the dock being very careful not to break any ribbons that are on the other end.

Step 6 – Use one hand to hold the display panel and the other to disconnect the black ribbon #1

Step 7 – Gently rotate the display assembly until it is almost vertical to allow easier access to other ribbons.

Step 8 – Disconnect BLACK ribbon number “2″ using a spudger.

Step 9 – Use your spudger to flip the white plastic tab up about 90 degrees so it releases the last ribbon cable

Step 10 – Slide the black ribbon out of the connector and remove the display.

Step 11 – Remove five partial thread screws that secure the logic board to the back panel, two full thread screws that secure the logic board and the camera, and one screw that is under the”Do not remove” sticker. (8 screws total)

Step 12 – Unplug ribbon “4″

Step 13 – Lift the motherboard out being careful not to harm the ribbon on the underside connecting the board to the camera.

Step 14 – Unplug that ribbon and set the motherboard aside.

Step 15 – Gently pry the camera out of its housing. It cannot be removed yet because it is still connected to the logic board.

Step 16 – Use your spudger to gently pry the logic board up and slide it towards the dock connector and out of the phone. If you meet resistance, make sure you have gotten all the screws out in step 11.

Step 17 – Pull up, with some force, on the attached tab on the battery to remove.

Step 18 – Put the new battery in and do the steps backwards to put your iPhone back together.

Once you finish going back through your steps, you can sit back and congratulate yourself on successfully replacing your iPhone battery.
